Katie is a hardworking and diligent attorney whose practice areas include insurance defense, criminal defense, and family law.
Prior to joining Thompson-Hall as an attorney, Katie worked at the firm as a Law Clerk. Katie has assisted on cases involving a variety of legal matters, including insurance bad faith claims, Fourth Amendment violations by law enforcement, and domestic relations matters involving property distribution, child support, and spousal maintenance.
Katie is well-versed in assessing the merits of alleged civil claims and criminal charges, identifying constitutional issues, and drafting pleadings and discovery motions. Katie has experience in providing thorough and comprehensive advocacy through the pleading, pretrial, and appellate stages of litigation.
Katie graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law, and was recognized “with distinction” for her efforts in providing pro bono representation. She was also recognized for her writing and research skills by being selected as a Staff Editor for the Kansas Journal of Law & Public Policy, and as a Staff Articles Editor the following year. Additionally, finishing at the top in her First Amendment Advocacy class, Katie excelled in evaluating constitutional issues and advocating for freedoms protected by the First Amendment.
