Jury Finds Plaintiff was the Primary Cause of the Motor Vehicle Accident that Allegedly Caused Plaintiff’s Injuries

The firm closed out June with a successful defense of a claim against a Thompson-Hall client in which the plaintiff alleged that the client had caused a collision that “totalled” the vehicle plaintiff was driving.  Todd Thompson presented evidence that plaintiff was the one who had violated several rules of the road.  Thompson argued that plaintiff had gambled away his safety when plaintiff pulled perpendicular into a lane of travel when plaintiff could not see the oncoming traffic.  The jury assigned to plaintiff more than three-fourths of the fault for causing the accident, resulting in a judgment against the plaintiff and for the Thompson-Hall client on all claims.  Golden v. Steward, District Court of Douglas County.
